Kelly Wang (草 千 Caochian) is an alternative cartoonist, printmaker, and musician based in Chicago, USA. BFA 2023 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Her hand-drawn works combine Asian and American influences, their stories exploring personal narratives and growth often with absurd or magical realism twists. Her works OUR GRAND STATION placed the grand prize in the 2020 Clip Studio Paint International Comic/Manga Schools Contest and WHAT CAN YOU BRING TO THE TABLE nominated for the 2024 Cartoonist Studio Prize for Best Short Comic. They currently self-publish their work through their own small risograph press REESO PRESS and play music.
